If I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.
(1 Corinthians 13:2 NASB)
God’s Word is our absolute and love is the filter by which we understand all that God is and all that He wants us to be. We choose to care more about people and connecting them with Jesus than we do about being right. We believe the Bible is clear; we could have all knowledge and revelation, but if we don’t have love we have missed it.
We believe the Bible is the inspired and authoritative Word of God and it is eternally reliable.
(2 Timothy. 3:16-17; Romans 15:4; Mark 7:5-8, 13; Luke 21:33)
We believe in one eternal God, manifest as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
(Deuteronomy 6:4; John 17:3; 1 Timothy 1:17; Hebrews 1:1-3; John 14:26, 15:26, 16:7; 2 Corinthians 13:14; 1 John 1:2)
We believe Jesus Christ is the only begotten son of God. We believe in His deity, virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, atoning death, bodily resurrection, ascension, and future return in power and glory to receive the Church to Himself.
(Isaiah 9:6; Hebrews 1:8; Matthew 1:18-25, 4:24, 8:26; John 2:1-11; 3:16; Hebrews 4:15; Romans 5:8; John 20:17; 1 Corinthians 15:23-25; 1 Thessalonians. 4:14-17)
We believe people are made in the image of God as the supreme object of His creation. We were created to have fellowship with God but became separated in that relationship through sinful disobedience. As a result, man cannot attain a right relationship with God through his own effort. Every human is uniquely created, possesses dignity, and is worthy of respect and Christian love.
(Genesis 1:26-30; 2:7, 18-22; 3; Psalms 8:3-6; 32:1-5; 51:5; Isaiah 6:5; Jeremiah 17:5; Acts 17:26-31; Romans 1:19-32; 3:10-18, 23; 5:6; 6:6; 7:14-25; 1 Corinthians 1:21-31; 15:19, 21-22; Ephesians 2; Colossians 1:21-22; 3:9-17)
We believe the blood of Jesus Christ, shed on the cross, provides the only way to be saved from eternal judgment. Salvation occurs when people confess their faith in the death and resurrection of Christ as sufficient payment for their sin. Salvation is a gift from God, and it cannot be earned through our own efforts. To add any other “requirement” for salvation is to deny the complete and final work of Jesus, reject God’s gift, and return to bondage.
(Isaiah 1:18; 53:5-6; 55:7; Matthew 1:21; 27:22-28:6; Luke 1:68-69; 2:28-32; John 1:12; 3:16, 36; 5:24;Acts 2:21; 4:12; 16:30-31; Romans 1:16-18;3:23-25; 5:8-10; 6; 1 Corinthians 1:18; 2 Corinthians 5:17-20; Galatians 2:14-21; 3:1-14; 4:9-11; 5:1-6; Ephesians 2:8-10;Philippians 2:12-13; Colossians 2:16-23; Hebrews 9:24-28; Revelation 3:20)
We believe in water baptism after salvation by immersion in obedience to our Lord Jesus Christ.
(Matthew 28:19; Luke 3:21; Acts 2:38; Romans 6:3-11; Galatians 3:26-29; Colossians 2:12)
We believe in the present day ministry of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit empowers us for service and witness, cleanses us from the old nature, conforms us to the image of Christ, and is evidenced by the fruits of the spirit. The baptism of the Holy Spirit releases the fullness and gifts of the Holy Spirit.
(Acts 1:8, 1 Corinthians 12:4-31, 14:12; Galatians 5:16-18, 22; Hebrews 2:4; 1 Timothy 4:14)
We believe God’s principles work and that our salvation should produce an active lifestyle of loving obedience and service to Jesus Christ our Savior. He has empowered us to live an extraordinary and fulfilling life of purpose in Him.
(John 10:10; Romans 8:2; Galatians 5:13; Ephesians 2:10, Titus 2:14; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; Titus 3:5-8)
We believe in one universal Church which is the body of Christ. Jesus Christ is the head of the Church and all who have received salvation through Him are its members. The Church is governed by the five-fold ministry of Ephesians 4.
(1 Corinthians 12:12, 27; Romans 12:5; Ephesians 4:11-16; 5-23; Colossians 1:18, 28)
We believe in the second coming of Christ and the resurrection of the dead, some to eternal life and some to eternal judgment.
(Luke 14:14; John 11:25; Acts 4:33, 24:15; Revelation 20:6; John 5:28-29)
